  • Many former Knights have extended their playing careers after leaving UCF. Some Knights have played professionally in the United States, while others have headed overseas to represent UCF all over the world..

  • After garnering All-America honors as a senior for the Knights, Jermaine Taylor was selected with the 32nd overall pick in the 2009 National Basketball Association Draft by Washington. On draft night, the shooting guard was traded to Houston. He inked a multi-year deal with the Rockets prior to his rookie campaign.

  • During the 2008-09 season, UCF alum Dave Noel played in the NBA D-League with the Reno Bighorns. The D-League offers players to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA’s umbrella..
     
  • In 2005, former UCF star Mark Jones made his NBA debut with the Orlando Magic. Jones has also played for Colorado in the NBA D-League.
     
  • Dexter Lyons, a star of the Knights’ 2004 NCAA Tournament squad, spent the summers of 2004 and 2005 playing with NBA teams. He participated in the Pepsi Pro Summer League with the Boston Celtics in 2004. The following year, Lyons played with Orlando in the Reebok Vegas Summer League. Lyons was picked by Idaho in the third round of the 2006 D-League Draft.
     
  • During the 2008-09 season, several Knights played professionally overseas, including Stanley Billings (Mexico), Gary Johnson (Germany), Lyons (Spain), Roberto Morentin (Spain), Lavell Payne (Czech Republic), Josh Peppers (Japan) and Anthony Williams (Spain).
