Under head coach Kirk
Speraw, the Knights have played all over the country and around
the world. In the last five years, UCF has played regular-season
contests in 24 states, plus Puerto Rico.
In 2006-07, UCF played in a tournament outside the continental
United States for the third time since 2000 as the Knights
participated in the San Juan Shootout in Puerto Rico. In
addition to playing three games on commonwealth, the Knights had
the chance to relax and tour the island.
The program traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska in 2004 for the BP Top
of the World Classic. During the 2000-01 campaign, UCF played in
the Hawaii Pacific Thanksgiving Tournament on the island of
O’ahu.
During the summer of 2005, UCF headed to Europe for a five-game
exhibition tour. The UCF contingent visited Belgium, France and
Holland.
While overseas, the Knights had the opportunity to learn about
different cultures and also visited famous sites, including the
Eiffel Tower in Paris. On the court, the squad played games
against European professional teams.
